Licking Valley Middle School—2020/2021

Parent Information Sheet

Dear Parent/Guardian of LVMS Students,

Since we are not able to meet for an informational meeting to go over these basic items I thought I would create this little fact sheet to take care of some basic procedural items.  Please know that I am always available to answer any questions you may have at 740-763-2711 or at [email protected]. Thank you and we look forward to the school year ahead!

Sincerely,

Scott Beery—Principal, LVMS

Daily Schedule

With the challenges we are facing we will be starting the 2020/2021 school year on a one-hour delay schedule.  Our hope is to return to the normal schedule at some point.

8:05 a.m. Breakfast for All—Grab & Go

8:18 a.m. Tardy Bell Rings

8:28 a.m. School Begins

2:18 a.m. Dismissal

Drop-off/Pick-up

We bus over 70% of our students so we reserve the front parking lot from 8:05 to 8:25 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for buses.  If you are dropping off students or picking up after school please use the rear parking lot.  It is imperative that during morning drop off you stay in line to the left of the cones.  If you are planning to pick up after school and want to avoid traffic, wait until 2:30 p.m. and you can pull up front after the buses depart and your student can meet you there.  If not please know the back is very “busy” at dismissal time!

Visitors

Until further notice, all visitors to will be limited to the main office area.  If you are signing a student out early you may enter through the main office but you will remain there to wait on your student.  All other visits to LVMS are prohibited at this time.  All conferences, IEP meetings, and 504 meetings will be done via Zoom or by phone.

Safety Precautions

We are certainly living in unprecedented times.  We have taken every possible precaution to start the year to keep students and staff safe.  I am sure we will adjust to things as we get started but rest assured we will adjust as needed.  We will be social distancing per health department protocols and face coverings are mandatory for every person at LVMS.  Class changes have been staggered, lunches have been spaced utilizing the cafeteria, gymnasium, and courtyard.  We will stagger dismissal times so to limit the numbers in the hallways, before and after school.  We are prepared, but we are not perfect.  Please help us by conveying to your students the importance of following every precaution that has been adopted.
